Budapest University of Technology and Economics

The Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Department of Structural Materials and Engineering Geology is the only institute in Hungarian academic field where theoretical and experimental research is running on FRP composites for concrete structures in civil engineering.
Several projects were carried out in the past, both by governmental and industrial funding. Research fields cover the application possibilities of embedded or externally bonded FRP reinforcements.
The Department has a laboratory with material testing possibilities and extensive references. Members of the scientific staff (expertise on FRP materials) use their knowledge in research, in teaching and in industrial fields. Topic of FRP materials for concrete structures is included in a lecture for undergraduate MSc (CE) students. At the Department several PhD research is running dealing with FRP materials.
